Mike Shanahan is the leader of the Denver Broncos

The Broncos finished in 2nd place in the AFC West but the bad news is that they were only 7-9.  Mike Shanahan has now coached 13 seasons for the Denver Broncos and he has compiled a 130-78 (.625 %) regular season record and he is 8-5 (.615 %) in the post season.  The Broncos won the Super Bowl under Mike Shanahan’s direction in 1997 and 1998.  Shanahan has now been a head coach in the NFL for 15 seasons and he has a regular season record of 138-90 (.605 %) and a post season record of 8-5 (.615 %).

Jay Cutler is progressing well for the Denver Broncos

The Broncos may have had a disappointing season overall but the play of Jay Cutler has the coaches and front office smiling about the future.  Cutler played in all 16 games this season for the Broncos and he completed 297 of 467 passes (63.6%) for 3,497 yards with 20 TD passes and 14 interceptions (88.1 QB Rating).  He also carried the football 44 times for 205 yards (4.7 ypc) with a TD run.  Cutler has now played in 21 games in his NFL career and he has completed 378 of 604 passes (62.6%) for 4,498 yards with 29 TD passes and 19 interceptions (88.2 QB Rating).  He also has carried the football 56 times for 223 yards (4.0 ypc) with 1 TD run. 

Patrick Ramsey looked o.k. in his limited playing time this season.  Ramsey played in 2 games this season for the Broncos and he completed 29 of 48 passes (60.4%) for 262 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 interception (73.4 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 2 times for 6 yards (3.0 ypc).  Ramsey has now played in 37 games in his NFL career and he has completed 509 of 910 passes (55.9%) for 5,911 yards with 35 TD passes and 30 interceptions (74.8 QB Rating).  He also has carried the ball 47 times for 89 yards (1.9 ypc) with 2 TD runs.

Denver Broncos 22, Minnesota Vikings 19 in OT

The Denver Broncos outlasted the Vikings who had a huge 4th quarter to send the game into OT.  Jay Cutler led the way with another outstanding game as he completed 26 of 37 passes for 246 yards with 2 TD passes.  Selvin Young carried the bulk of the running load as he carried the ball 22 times for 87 yards (4.0 ypc).  Brandon Marshall (10 rec, 114 yards, TD) and Tony Scheffler (7 rec, 52 yards, TD) both had outstanding games.  The Broncos finished up with 128 yards rushing on 27 carries (4.7 ypc) and they also completed 26 of 37 passes for 234 yards.

John Lynch (9 tackles) and D.J. Williams (8 tackles) led the way for the Broncos defense.  The Vikings finished up with 172 yards rushing on 27 carries (6.4 ypc) and they also completed 16 of 31 passes for 160 yards.
