The Denver Broncos fire Mike Shanahan
The Denver Broncos have fired head coach Mike Shanahan. This was a shock to most as Shanahan has great credentials but the front office was angry with the December collapse that caused them to miss the playoffs. Shanahan was the head man in Denver for 14 seasons in which he compiled a 138-86 record (61.6% wins) during the regular season. He was also 8-5 in the post season (61.5% wins) including winning two Super Bowls in 1997 and 1998. It will be interesting to see how well the next coach does in Denver as Shanahan set the bar pretty high.
