The Denver Broncos sign LaMont Jordan
The Broncos have signed 30-year old running back LaMont Jordan to a 2-year, $2.5 million dollar contract. Jordan played in 8 games for the Patriots last season and he carried the ball 80 times for 363 yards (4.5 ypc) with 4 TD runs. He didn’t catch any passes though. The Broncos value Jordan’s hard running style which should fit the new offense fine. Jordan has now played in 105 games in his NFL career and he has carried the ball 872 times for 3,648 yards (4.2 ypc) with 28 TD runs. He also has caught 158 passes for 1,301 yards (8.2 avg) with 3 TDs. This was a good signing for the Broncos as Jordan will team with Correll Buckhalter to give the team a nice power running game in 2009.
