The Broncos have signed defensive tackle Ronald Fields to a 2-year, $5 million dollar deal.  Fields played in all 16 games for the 49ers last season and he made 19 tackles.  Fields has now played in 49 games in his NFL career and he has made 75 tackles, defensed 1 pass, forced 1 fumble and made 1 sack.  This was likely nothing more than a depth signing as the 6′2″, 315 pound Fields has not shown much to this point in his NFL career.

The Broncos have signed 30-year old CB Andre’ Goodman to a 5-year, $25 million dollar contract.  Goodman had a career year in 2008 for the Dolphins.  He played in all 16 games for the Dolphins last season and he made 39 tackles, defensed 19 passes, forced a fumble and he intercepted 5 passes.  Goodman has now played in 87 games in his NFL career and he has made 233 tackles, has defensed 60 passes, forced 3 fumbles and he has intercepted 12 passes.  The Broncos have revamped their secondary as Goodman will be starting alongside Champ Bailey at CB with Renaldo Hill and Brian Dawkins behind them at safety.  As long as the old guys hold up…..the Broncos look like they have really improved the secondary for the 2009 season.
