The Denver Broncos release Selvin Young

The Broncos have released 25-year old RB Selvin Young.  Young played in 8 games for the Broncos last season and he carried the ball 61 times for 303 yards (5.0 ypc) with 1 TD grab.  He also caught 3 passes for 16 yards (5.3 avg).  Young was a undrafted free agent find for the Broncos two years ago but he had problems staying healthy last year and he was a little too cocky for the team’s taste.  Young played in 23 games for the Broncos in his two years with them.  In those games, Young carried the ball 201 times for 1,032 yards (5.1 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  He also caught 38 passes for 247 yards (6.5 avg) for the Broncos.

The Broncos have released 29-year old RB Andrew Pinnock.  They likely won’t miss him too much based on his career numbers.  Pinnock has played in 26 games in his 5-year NFL career and he has carried the ball 18 times for 56 yards (3.1 ypc).  He also has caught 4 passes for 31 yards (7.8 avg) in his NFL career.  This won’t hurt the Broncos one bit.

The Denver Broncos release J.J. Arrington

The Broncos have released running back J.J. Arrington because of a failed physical due to a knee problem.  The Broncos will have to eat the $1.8 million dollar bonus they gave Arrington to sign with them.  Still, this proves that the Broncos are happy with rookie Knowshon Moreno.

The Denver Broncos sign RB Darius Walker

The Denver Broncos have signed 23-year old RB Darius Walker to a 2-year deal.  It seems as if the Broncos are collecting RBs this off-season so it will be hard for Walker to get his hands on the ball much in 2009.  Walker last played in the NFL in 2007 with the Houston Texans.  He has played in 4 games in his NFL career carrying the ball 58 times for 264 yards (4.6 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He also caught 13 passes for 81 yards (6.2 avg) in his career.  Walker has talent but he will be buried on the depth chart heading into the 2009 season.
