The Denver Broncos sign TE Dante Rosario

The Broncos have signed 26-year old TE Dante Rosario.  Rosario played in 16 games (6 starts) for the Panthers last year and he caught 32 passes for 264 yards (8.3 avg).  He has now played in 62 games (22 starts) in his first four years in the NFL and he has caught 82 passes for 894 yards (10.9 avg) with 5 TD grabs.  Rosario was signed because he played his whole career to date under new Broncos’ head coach John Fox.  Here’s to hoping he doesn’t bring over too many players from last year’s Panthers’ team.

UPDATE:  (9/4/2011) – The Broncos have released Dante Rosario.

The Denver Broncos sign TE Daniel Fells

The Broncos have signed 27-year old TE Daniel Fells to a 1-year deal.  Fells played in 16 games (6 starts) for the Rams last year and he caught 41 passes for 391 yards (9.5 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  He has now played in 42 games (11 starts) in his first three years in the NFL and he has caught 69 passes for 745 yards (10.8 avg) with 5 TD grabs.  Fells is a very underrated TE and I think he’s going to do a solid job for the Broncos in 2011.

The Denver Broncos sign RB Willis McGahee

The Broncos have signed 29-year old RB Willis McGahee to a 4-year, $10 million dollar deal.  McGahee played in 15 games (2 starts) for the Ravens last year and he carried the ball 100 times for 380 yards (3.8 ypc) with 5 TD runs.  McGahee also caught 14 passes for 55 yards (3.9 avg) with 1 TD grab last year.  He has now played in 105 games (66 starts) in his first 7 years in the NFL and he has carried the ball 1,541 times for 6,167 yards (4.0 ypc) with 55 TD runs.  He has also caught 164 passes for 1,047 yards (6.4 avg) with 4 TD grabs in his NFL career.  McGahee is coming to Denver hungry as he has been to the Pro Bowl once.  He is going to try to push Knowshon Moreno to the bench.  This should be a fun competition to watch in training camp.

The Denver Broncos sign Steven Hauschka

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General,Injury Reports by admin on Sunday 12 December 2010 at 2:06 pm

The Broncos have signed 25-year old kicker Steven Hauschka and he will likely be the starting kicker today.  He last played with the Ravens in 2009.  Hauschka has played in 17 games in his first two years in the NFL and he has connected on 10 of 15 field goals (66.7%) and 27 of 28 extra points good for 57 points.  26-year old kicker Matt Prater has a groin injury which will likely keep him out at least this week.  Prater has played in 12 games for the Broncos so far this year and he has connected on 16 of 18 field goals (88.9%) and 28 of 29 extra points good for 76 points.  The Broncos are likely going to miss Prater as he’s a much better kicker than Hauschka.

The Denver Broncos cut a LB and sign another one

The Broncos have cut 26-year old OLB Jarvis Moss and they have signed 24-year old LB David Veikune.  Moss played in 9 games for the Broncos this year and he had 5 tackles.  He played in 34 games for the Broncos in his four years with them and he had 29 tackles, 1 pass defensed, 3.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble.  Moss was a complete bust for the Broncos.  David Veikune played in 10 games as a rookie for the Browns last season but he didn’t make any tackles.  He was a 2nd round pick in 2009 by the Browns out of Hawaii.

The Denver Broncos sign TE/FB Daniel Coats

The Broncos have signed 26-year old TE/FB Daniel Coats.  Coats played in 6 games earlier this year for the Bengals but he didn’t get to touch the football.  Coats has now played in 53 games in his NFL career and he has 30 catches for 291 yards (9.7 avg).  Coats is a good run blocker and that’s likely why the Broncos inked him.

The Denver Broncos sign DT Kevin Vickerson

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page by admin on Wednesday 8 September 2010 at 3:00 pm

The Broncos have signed 27-year old DT Kevin Vickerson.  Vickerson played in 13 games (2 starts) for the Titans last season and he had 28 tackles and 3 passes defensed.  He has now played in 24 games (2 starts) in his NFL career and he has 45 tackles, 1.5 sacks and he has defensed 4 passes.  This was a good signing for the Broncos as Vickerson should help out with the depth on the D-Line.

The Denver Broncos sign DE Jason Hunter

The Broncos have signed 26-year old DE Jason Hunter who was just released earlier this week by the Lions.  Hunter played in 14 games for the Lions last season and he had 34 tackles, 5 sacks and he defensed 3 passes.  He has now played in 56 games in his four years in the NFL and he has 66 tackles, 7 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 3 passes defensed.  This was a good signing for the Broncos who need help rushing the passer.

The Denver Broncos sign Justin Fargas

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page by admin on Wednesday 11 August 2010 at 10:26 am

The Broncos have signed 30-year old running back Justin Fargas.  Fargas played in 12 games (4 starts) for the Raiders last season and he carried the ball 129 times for 491 yards (3.8 ypc) with 3 TD runs.  He also caught 17 passes for 113 yards (6.6 avg) last year.  Fargas has now played in 92 games (32 starts) in his NFL career and he has carried the ball 827 times for 3,369 yards (4.1 ypc) with 10 TD carries.  He has also caught 77 passes for 523 yards (6.8 avg) in his career.  This was a good signing for the Broncos as they are worried about Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter’s health right now.

The Denver Broncos sign LenDale White

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page by admin on Thursday 5 August 2010 at 11:34 am

The Broncos have signed 25-year old running back LenDale White.  White will miss the first four games of this season due to a league suspension for failing a drug test.  White played in 13 games (0 starts) for the Titans last season and he carried the ball 64 times for 222 yards (3.5 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  He also caught 3 passes for 14 yards (4.7 avg) last year.  White has now played in 58 games (18 starts) in his four years in the NFL and he has carried the ball 628 times for 2,349 yards (3.7 ypc) with 24 TD runs.  He has also caught 42 passes for 204 yards (4.9 avg) in his career.  The Broncos have waived RB Kolby Smith to make room on the roster for White.  I like this signing for the Broncos as White is a power running which is a contrast to the other backs on the roster.
