The Denver Broncos release CB Perrish Cox

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Sunday 4 September 2011 at 6:54 pm

The Broncos have released 24-year old CB Perrish Cox.  Cox played in 15 games as a rookie for the Broncos last year and he had 58 tackles, 14 passes defensed, 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles and 2 tackles for a loss.  He also returned 3 punts for 7 yards (2.3 avg) and 9 kickoffs for 172 yards (19.1 avg) last year.  On the field, Cox is a playmaker, but I think he was cut for how he acts off the field.

The Denver Broncos release CB Nate Jones

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Monday 29 August 2011 at 5:36 pm

The Broncos have released 29-year old  CB Nate Jones.  Jones played in all 16 games for the Broncos last year and he had 57 tackles and 3 passes defensed.  This should be looked at as good news for Broncos’ fans as Jones wasn’t much of a playmaker in the passing game, despite getting quite a bit of P.T. in 2010.  So it’s out with the old and in with the new in Denver.

The Denver Broncos release RB LenDale White

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Tuesday 16 August 2011 at 8:20 pm

The Broncos have released 26-year old RB LenDale White.  White didn’t play in any games for the Broncos last year despite being on the team.  White has played in 58 games (18 starts) in his first four years in the NFL and he has 628 carries for 2,349 yards (3.7 ypc) with 24 TD runs.  He has also caught 42 passes for 204 yards (4.9 avg) in his NFL career.  This is not a big loss for the Broncos as they think they are solid at RB for 2011.

The Denver Broncos release CB Chevis Jackson

The Broncos have released cornerback Chevis Jackson.  Jackson played in 2 games for the Jaguars last year but he didn’t make any tackles.  Jackson has played in 33 games in his first three years in the NFL and he has 60 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 7 passes defensed and 1 interception (he returned it for a TD).  This is not much of a loss to the Broncos.

The Denver Broncos release Correll Buckhalter

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Tuesday 26 July 2011 at 2:12 pm

Shortly after the lockout was lifted, the Broncos decided to release 32-year old RB Correll Buckhalter.  Buckhalter played in 15 games (0 starts) for the Broncos last year and he carried the ball 59 times for 147 yards (2.5 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  He also caught 28 passes for 240 yards (8.6 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  Buckhalter stayed pretty healthy in his two years with the Broncos and he had one good one and one bad one.  Buckhalter played in 29 games (7 starts) in his two years with the Broncos and he carried the ball 179 times for 789 yards (4.4 ypc) with 3 TD runs.  He also caught 59 passes for 480 yards (8.1 avg) with 2 TD grabs with the Broncos.  The Broncos will be able to get a better RB in free agency than Buckhalter.

The Denver Broncos release two defensive linemen

The Denver Broncos have released 34-year old DT Jamal Williams and 31-year old DE/DT Justin Bannan.  Williams played in 16 games for the Broncos last season and he had 47 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  Bannan played in 16 games for the Broncos last season and he had 35 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for a loss, 4 passes defensed and 1 forced fumble.  Williams & Bannan were signed last off-season with the idea that they would help improve the run defense and you all see how well that worked out.  The Broncos won’t miss either of these guys as they will look to rebuild the D-Line.

The Denver Broncos release Daniel Graham

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Thursday 3 March 2011 at 1:13 pm

The Broncos have released 32-year old TE Daniel Graham.  Graham played in 16 games for the Broncos last season and he caught 18 passes for 148 yards (8.2 avg) without catching any TD passes.  Graham played in 63 games in his four years with the Broncos and he caught 102 passes for 1,072 yards (10.5 avg) with 7 TD grabs.  The Broncos will likely look to add a free agent or a draft pick to replace Graham in 2011.

The Denver Broncos claim Chevis Jackson off waivers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Friday 24 December 2010 at 4:54 am

The Broncos have claimed 25-year old cornerback Chevis Jackson off waivers from the Patriots.  Jackson played in 2 games for the Jaguars earlier this year but he didn’t get any tackles.  Jackson has now played in 33 games in his first three years in the NFL and he has 60 tackles, 7 passes defensed, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and a interception that he returned 95 yards for a TD.  The Broncos can use the help in the secondary so I like this move for them.  To make room for Jackson on the roster, the Broncos released 23-year old OLB Kevin Alexander.  Alexander played in 8 games for the Broncos this year and he had 4 tackles and he defensed 1 pass.  He is no loss.

The Denver Broncos fire Josh McDaniels

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Front Page,General,Leaving Town by admin on Tuesday 7 December 2010 at 8:27 pm

The Denver Broncos have fired 34-year old head coach Josh McDaniels.  McDaniels had a lot of issues that the Broncos didn’t want to deal with anymore.  He got the team and himself fined for videotaping 49ers’ practice in London.  That was something he obviously learned how to try to pull off in his time with Bill Belichick in New England.  The Broncos also probably didn’t like his my way or the highway attitude which caused the Broncos to gut their roster of a lot of talented players like Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Peyton Hillis and Alphonso Smith.  But in the end, I think he was just overmatched as a NFL head coach.  The Broncos are 3-9 this season which has them in last place in the AFC West.  After starting out 6-0 last season he was perceived by many to be kind of a genius.  But the bye week followed and the Broncos have been 5-17 since then.  The Broncos were 11-17 (39.3%) in McDaniels’ run as the head coach of the team.  The Broncos have named 43-year old Eric Studesville as the interim head coach.  Studesville was hired as the Broncos’ RB coach before this year started.  He has 13 years of experience as an assistant coach in the NFL.

The Denver Broncos cut a LB and sign another one

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Broncos News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,Leaving Town by admin on Wednesday 17 November 2010 at 11:37 pm

The Broncos have cut 26-year old OLB Jarvis Moss and they have signed 24-year old LB David Veikune.  Moss played in 9 games for the Broncos this year and he had 5 tackles.  He played in 34 games for the Broncos in his four years with them and he had 29 tackles, 1 pass defensed, 3.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble.  Moss was a complete bust for the Broncos.  David Veikune played in 10 games as a rookie for the Browns last season but he didn’t make any tackles.  He was a 2nd round pick in 2009 by the Browns out of Hawaii.
