Denver Broncos vs. Oakland Raiders

The Denver Broncos always seem to bring their A-game when they play the Raiders.  Mike Shanahan still holds a grudge against Al Davis for firing him in his second season in Oakland and it shows.  The Broncos will likely try to establish the running game to set up the passing game.  With that in mind RB Selvin Young will be busy against DT Garard Warren and linebacker Kirk Morrison and Thomas Howard.  DE Derrick Burgess of the Raiders will try to establish the pass rush against QB Jay Cutler and if he can’t the Broncos should be able to effectively pass the football.  WRs Darrell Jackson and rookie Eddie Royal will be covered by CBs DeAngelo Hall and Nnamdi Asomugha so the Broncos might target other receivers.  WR Brandon Stokley and TE Tony Scheffler will likely battle safeties Gibril Wilson and Michael Huff and it will be interesting to see who wins out.

The Oakland Raiders are going to run the football right at the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football with Justin Fargas, Darren McFadden and Michael Bush.  DT Dewayne Robertson and linebackers Nate Webster, Boss Bailey and D.J. Williams will have their hands full in this football game.  The Raiders likely won’t throw the ball downfield too much in this game as CBs Champ Bailey and Dre’ Bly are one of the best pairs in the NFL.  It’s unlikely that either Javon Walker or Ronald Curry will be able to have good games on Monday Night.  But, TE Zach Miller could have a good game against safeties Marlon McCree and Marquand Manuel.

PREDICTION:  DENVER BRONCOS 24, OAKLAND RAIDERS 20
