Tim Tebow is starting to pass a lot better for the Denver Broncos

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Friday 16 December 2011 at 1:15 pm

24-year old QB Tim Tebow is improving as a passer as of late.  In his last three games, Tebow has completed 40 of 73 passes (54.8%) for 581 yards with 4 TD passes and 1 INT.  He has now played in 11 games for the Broncos this year and he has completed 96 of 198 passes (48.5%) for 1,290 yards with 11 TD passes and 2 INTs (83.9 QB Rating).  He has also carried the ball 94 times for 517 yards (5.5 ypc) with 3 TD runs so far this year.  The Broncos need Tebow to finish strong if they are going to win the AFC West.

Willis McGahee has been rock solid for the Denver Broncos so far this year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 29 November 2011 at 11:13 pm

30-year old RB Willis McGahee has been really solid for the Broncos this year.  He quickly pushed Knowshon Moreno aside this year and assumed the starting RB job for the Broncos.  McGahee has played in 10 games for the Broncos so far this year and he has carried the ball 162 times for 775 yards (4.8 ypc) with 3 TD runs.  He has also caught 11 passes for 49 yards (4.5 ypc) with 1 TD grab.  McGahee has rushed for over 100 yards in a game five times already this year.  McGahee deserves a lot of respect for the rebound the Broncos have had lately and he will be a key the rest of the way if they are going to make a legit playoff run.

Tim Tebow has been a bright light for the Denver Broncos so far this year

The Broncos were floundering earlier this year as they were 1-4 under Kyle Orton.  That is when head coach John Fox decided to take a look at 24-year old QB Tim Tebow….as he didn’t have anything to lose.  Somehow, the Broncos have reversed their course and they are actually right in the playoff hunt at 5-5, 1 game behind the Raiders in the AFC West.  Tebow has played in 8 games for the Broncos so far this year and he has completed 56 of 125 passes (44.8%) for 709 yards with 7 TD passes and 1 INT (78.4 QB Rating).  He also has carried the ball 56 times for 388 yards (6.9 ypc) with 3 TD runs so far this year.  Tebow might not be the best passer around but he’s a winner and no one can judge a man’s heart.

D.J. Williams is bringing it for the Denver Broncos

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 15 November 2011 at 9:28 pm

29-year old linebacker D.J. Williams missed the first three weeks of the season due to injury.  But, he’s making up for lost time now.  Williams has played in six games so far this year for the Broncos and he has 39 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 1 pass defensed.  He has now played in 113 games in his first 8 years with the Broncos and he has 759 tackles, 18.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, 7 fumble recoveries, 46 tackles for a loss, 36 passes defensed and 2 interceptions.  The Broncos’ defense is a lot better now that Williams is back in action.

John Fox is doing a solid job for the Denver Broncos

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Friday 11 November 2011 at 6:42 pm

56-year old head coach John Fox is doing a solid job for the Broncos so far this year.  The Broncos are only 3-5 on the season, but they are still in contention for the AFC West.  The Broncos are 2-1 since switching QBs from Tim Tebow to Kyle Orton.  It seems like the Broncos are rallying behind Tebow and Fox’ leadership as they are finally showing some signs of life.  Fox is now 76-76 (50%) during the regular season in his first 10 years as an NFL head coach.  Fox got the expansion Carolina Panthers into contention early on in his career there as he has proven to be able to handle quick turnarounds.  The Broncos hope that history repeats itself in Denver.

The Denver Broncos have been getting good work from the return men so far this year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Saturday 5 November 2011 at 3:41 pm

The Broncos signed Quan Cosby off the street a few weeks ago and he has been a very solid return man for them.  He has returned 7 kickoffs for 188 yards (26.9 avg) and 13 punts for 157 yards (12.1 avg) so far this year for the Broncos.  CBs Cassius Vaughn (3 kickoff returns for 75 yards) and Andre Goodman (1 punt return for 0 yards) have also pitched in for the Broncos on special teams so far this year.  WR Eric Decker returned 5 punts for 128 yards (25.6 avg) with 1 TD return earlier this year, but when his role expanded offensively, the Broncos decided to have him focus on playing offense.  The Broncos have returned 10 kickoffs for 263 yards (26.3 avg) and 19 punts for 285 yards (15.0 avg) with 1 TD return so far in 2011.  The Broncos need these guys to keep up the good work.

The Denver Broncos are going to likely be running more now

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Saturday 22 October 2011 at 2:18 am

With Tim Tebow starting at QB now, I see the Broncos becoming more of a running team going forward.  Willis McGahee is the main man for the Broncos in the running game so far this year.  He has played in 5 games for the Broncos so far this year and he has carried the ball 85 times for 384 yards (4.5 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He also has caught 11 passes for 49 yards (4.5 avg) so far this season with 1 TD grab.  Knowshon Moreno got off to a slow start this year due to injury problems.  He has played in 3 games for the Broncos so far this year and he has 10 carries for 26 yards (2.6 ypc).  He has also caught 6 passes for 82 yards (13.7 avg) with 1 TD grab so far this year.  Look for Moreno’s role to expand starting this weekend against the Dolphins.  Lance Ball has played in five games for the Broncos this year and he has 9 carries for 40 yards (4.4 ypc).  He has also caught 5 passes for 26 yards (5.2 ypc) with 1 TD grab so far this year.  The Broncos are averaging 101.8 yards rushing per game and 4.3 yards per carry.  I look for those numbers to go up starting this weekend.

Willis McGahee is the main man in the running game for the Denver Broncos

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Saturday 8 October 2011 at 1:17 pm

29-year old RB Willis McGahee is now the featured back for the Broncos as he took over while Knowshon Moreno was injured.  He has played in 4 games for the Broncos so far this year and he has carried the ball 69 times for 259 yards (3.8 ypc) with 1 TD run.  McGahee has also caught 11 passes for 49 yards (4.5 avg) with 1 TD grab.  Remember, McGahee was signed after John Fox took over as the head coach, so their is no loyalty to Knowshon Moreno.  If he wants his job back, he’s going to have to clearly outplay McGahee and I don’t see that happening any time soon.

Von Miller is off to a good start for the Denver Broncos

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 27 September 2011 at 8:41 pm

22-year old rookie outside linebacker Von Miller is off to a solid start for the Broncos.  He has played in all 3 games for the Broncos so far this year and he has 12 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 passes defensed.  Miller is giving the Broncos’ pass rush a huge boost which is also helping the secondary a lot as they don’t need to cover as long.  The Broncos hope that Miller keeps up the good work as the defense looks improved so far this year under new head coach John Fox.

Wesley Woodyard is stepping up for the Denver Broncos

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 20 September 2011 at 5:13 pm

25-year old linebacker Wesley Woodyard has stepped up for the Broncos as he has been starting in place of the injured D.J. Williams.  Woodyard has played in 2 games for the Broncos so far this year and he has 19 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 pass defensed.  He has now played in 45 games in his first four years with the Broncos and he has 155 tackles, 7 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 4 passes defensed and 1 interception.  The Broncos need Woodyard to keep up the good work as the defense needs all the help it can get.
